We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record in leading Data and AI initiatives to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing complex AI and data science projects from inception to deployment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact AI solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical understanding with exceptional project management skills and business acumen. Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple concurrent Data and AI projects throughout their entire lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, risk management, and contingency planning for AI implementations.
- Facilitate communication between technical teams (data scientists, ML engineers) and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Establish and implement project management methodologies suitable for AI development, incorporating both Agile and traditional approaches as needed.
- Create and maintain project documentation, including requirements, specifications, status reports, and performance metrics.
- Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships for AI initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, particularly those unique to AI implementations such as data quality, model performance, and ethical considerations.
- Lead sprint planning, retrospectives, and status meetings while fostering a collaborative environment.
- Monitor project KPIs and create executive-level reporting on project status, risks, and outcomes.
- Guide stakeholder expectations regarding AI capabilities, limitations, and implementation timelines.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing complex technology projects, with at least 3 years specifically focused on Data and AI initiatives.
- Demonstrated success in delivering enterprise-scale machine learning or data science projects.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML development lifecycle, including data preparation, model development, and deployment.
- Proven experience with both Agile and traditional project management methodologies.
- Excellent knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Jira, Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps).
- Strong understanding of data privacy, security requirements, and ethical considerations in AI projects.
- Solid technical background with understanding of data architectures, cloud platforms, and AI technologies.
- Experience managing budgets exceeding $1M and teams of 10+ members.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications are preferred.
- Experience with AI governance frameworks and best practices for responsible AI development.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with cross-cultural, geographically distributed teams.
