Overview: We are seeking a Monitoring Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on enhancing system monitoring and performance. In this role, you will collaborate with the Application Support Team and IT leaders to assess and optimize existing system monitoring processes. You will be responsible for identifying areas of improvement, leveraging tools like Salesforce, AWS, New Relic, MuleSoft, and other software platforms to develop and implement monitoring solutions. You will work closely with IT support teams to refine current monitoring methods, create new monitoring solutions, and prioritize requests to ensure optimal system performance. Your work will adhere to Agile practices, ensuring smooth deployment and timely delivery of monitoring solutions to meet business needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with SBT team members to identify monitoring needs
- Monitor the technical performance of internal systems
- Work with Monitoring Engineer(s), Scrum Masters and Solution Architects to identify and enhance technical solutions to satisfy functional and non-functional requirements while ensuring quality and timely delivery
- Provide support for application deployment activities, as needed.
- Adheres to Sunnova release management standards and practices, including using Agile methodology and scrum teams
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or other technical degree, or equivalent experience (8 years) in the IT Industry.
- Candidate must possess 5 plus years of relevant IT experience as a Site Reliability Engineer
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with New Relic
- Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- 3 years of experience in cloud-based technologies like AWS (preferred), Azure, or Google are acceptable
- Firm understanding of serverless computing including AWS Lambda, ECS Clusters, and S3
- Experience with Heroku, Mulesoft, and Salesforce platforms
- Ability to foster new ideas and concepts for observability and performance of systems in the overall ecosystem
- Schedule needs to be flexible to the needs of the business and will require weekend or evening availability to facilitate software releases and critical incidents.
- Notice period of Max 1 month
- Very Proficient in New Relic platform (APM, Synthetic, and Browser Monitors)
- Develop code or scripts with Python, Node.js, PowerShell, and c#.net
- Well versed with Visual Studio Code IDE
- New Relic NRQL proficiency is a must
- New Relic NerdGrap development
- AWS CloudFormation, and Terraform
- AWS ECS, Kubernetes, and demand-based Auto Scaling
- New Relic Full Stack Observability Practitioner Certification is strongly desired
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem solving & critical thinking skills
- Experience with data analysis and setting and tracking metrics
