Lab Aide

Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU; is part of the newly established Dubai Academic Health Corporation (DAHC). DAHC seeks to strengthen Dubai as a global leader in health care, medical education, research, and scientific innovation, to enhance the capabilities of Dubai’s healthcare sector. DAHC is managing and operating all Dubai public hospitals, primary healthcare centers, specialized care centers, Dubai Dental Hospital; Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital, MBRU and Al Jalila Research Foundation. Job Purpose: The role is responsible for providing essential support in the Research Wet Labs and Teaching Labs (including computer-assisted, physiology, multidisciplinary, and anatomy dissection labs) within the university. The role involves ensuring that laboratories are properly maintained, assisting with lab setup and breakdown for both research activities and teaching exercises, and managing lab equipment and materials to support a safe, efficient, and well-organized laboratory environment Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in both research and teaching laboratories.
• Assist in tracking and managing inventory for lab assets and supplies.
• Help with the setup and breakdown of equipment before and after practical lab sessions for medical and allied courses.
• Provide logistical support during lab exercises, ensuring proper setup and arrangement of stations for students and faculty.
• Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of lab equipment, including microscopes, computers, and teaching aids in both research and teaching labs.
• Operate and maintain essential laboratory equipment, such as water deionizers, glass washers, and ice makers, while keeping accurate equipment logs.
• Report any incidents or potential risks to the Lab Manager and contribute to ensuring the safety of both equipment and lab users.
• Provide logistical support for workshops, seminars, and conferences hosted in the labs.
• Ensure proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in accordance with safety guidelines.

• High School Diploma. Additional Diploma in Medical Lab technology preferred.
• Written and spoken English is essential

• Minimum of 3 years in Lab environment preferably in a medical academic set up.
