Position: Import Analyst Location: Mumbai ️ Working Days: Monday- Friday ⏰ Work Timings: 10AM -7PM Experience Required: 3-8 years Client: Leading Manufacturer Salary: upto 9.5 LPA About Us: Our Client is a dynamic and growing company specializing in the importation and distribution of goods across international markets. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented US Customs Import Analyst to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in US customs procedures, HTS codes, and CBP regulations. Role Overview: The US Customs Import Analyst will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all US customs laws and regulations related to imports. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with HTS codes, CBP Liquidations, and the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) system. The position requires a thorough understanding of the customs import process, including documentation, tariff classification, and customs reporting. Key Responsibilities:
- Customs Compliance:
- Ensure all imports comply with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations.
- Work closely with internal teams to maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all shipments.
- HTS Code Classification:
- Accurately classify products using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes.
- Conduct research to resolve any classification discrepancies.
- CBP Liquidations:
- Handle CBP liquidation processes, ensuring all necessary filings are completed accurately and on time.
- Monitor and resolve any discrepancies related to liquidations and duty assessments.
- ACE System Usage:
- Utilize the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) system to file electronic entry summaries, track shipments, and ensure compliance with all import regulations.
- Import Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare and submit import documentation to CBP and other regulatory agencies.
- Work with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate payment of duties and taxes.
- Problem Resolution:
- Identify and resolve issues related to customs clearance, shipment delays, and tariff disputes.
- Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to expedite the clearance process.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in US import operations, preferably at a company that imports goods into the US or with a US-based customs broker.
- Hands-on experience with HTS codes, CBP liquidations, and ACE system.
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of US Customs regulations and import/export processes.
- Proficient in using the ACE CBP website for filing, tracking, and reporting import activities.
- Familiarity with customs documentation, including entry filings, commercial invoices, and bill of lading.
- Knowledge of import duties, taxes, and tariff classification.
- Attention to Detail:
- Ability to accurately classify goods and ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Communication:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, customs brokers, and external partners.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
