Senior Ambulance Services Officer-ARH-Ambulance Services (Sec)

Required : 4 - 6 years of relevant progressive experience in a similar role. Desired: Experience in interfacility transport with healthcare facilities. Responsibilities: - Coordinate and monitor SEHA ambulances' daily operations. - Monitor and maintain daily shift logs, resources, and ensure service quality is up to the highest standards at all times. - Respond to all patient transport requests according to SEHA policies and procedures, making all necessary arrangements to deliver efficient and quality service in a minimal time period. - Prepare daily reports (surge capacity, locations, staff, tasks, tracking, registration, service, maintenance). - Report any operational issues/accidents and prepare backups according to Ambulance communication reference. Communication: - Use computer software systems to schedule, prioritize patient transport tasks, and events coverage. - Ensure the effectiveness of telecommunications in all ambulances, sites, IT equipment, and software systems, reporting any defects or malfunctions. Patient Transport: - Ensure all requirements for inter-facility patient transport are met. - Provide accurate task information into computer software to ensure proper identification and safety of patient transport. - Perform high-level communication and pass clear instructions to the ambulance crew. Compliance: - Work in accordance with the Health & Safety legislation as outlined in SEHA interfacility transfer policy and procedure documentation. - Observe and abide by SEHA policies and procedures for the time they are in force. Professionalism: - Conduct the role in a professional, caring, and compassionate manner, ensuring a high level of customer and patient care is provided at all times while maintaining strict patient confidentiality. - Maintain the professional image of SEHA Patient Transport Service. Documentation: - Be accountable for prioritizing, scheduling, and dispatching the appropriate ambulance and crew according to SEHA policies and procedures. - Coordinate with facilities and ensure all required forms, information, reports, and supporting documents are documented properly. - Ensure proper documentation of all transporting processes according to SEHA and the Department of Health. - Report any operational or clinical complications according to Ambulance communication reference and ensure proper communication between the ambulance crew and designated medical oversight and facilities.
