Business/Applications Analyst Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client have a requirement for a Business/Applications Analyst to join their team. The duration of the post is initially 18 months with possible extensions thereafter. Working 35 hours per week the successful candidate will be employed as an agency employee and will be paid an hourly rate of €27.49 based on an annualised salary of €50,202 and will accrue 30 days' annual leave per year. The role is based fully onsite in Dublin 9. Job Purpose The Grade V Application Analyst will be responsible for: Supporting the day-to-day operations and development of the EPR product. Engaging with stakeholders to ensure the system meets user needs and promotes adoption. Collaborating with the Engagement and Delivery team and the wider Informatics Directorate Key Duties and Responsibilities The post holder will be responsible for playing a key role in delivering the highest standard of expertise to the scoping, implementation, optimisation and support of IT systems within St. James's Hospital. The successful candidate is expected to have excellent communication skills and be a self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team and independently as required. System Implementation & Optimisation: Collaborate with Applications Project Managers, Clinical Information Officers, and Technical staff to scope, procure, develop, roll out, optimise, and upgrade electronic health and administrative systems and applications. Assist in the adoption and integration of new IT systems to ensure seamless operation and improved efficiency. Conduct business continuity planning for planned or unplanned system downtimes, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital operations. Stay informed and "up-to-date" with the latest IT advancements within and outside the hospital to ensure continuous improvement. Application Maintenance: Become proficient with current hospital IT systems, the configuration and support of same. Provide hands-on troubleshooting for IT-related issues, ensuring timely resolutions and optimal system performance. Engage with hospital IT support structures, including the helpdesk and on-call support, to ensure effective incident management and issue resolution. Assist in the creation of Data Conversion Workflows (DCW) to facilitate seamless transitions during system changes or upgrades. Quality & Risk Management: Support the planning, design, execution, and reporting of system testing, in compliance with agreed standards, to ensure that new and amended software together with any interfaces, performs as specified and intended. Conduct both functional and automation testing to validate system integrity, performance, and compliance with hospital requirements. Participate in auditing of IT system use to ensure that workflows remain relevant for users and that systems remain fit for purpose. Maintain compliance with hospital IT security policies and procedures to safeguard patient data and system integrity. Cooperate with legislative and regulatory requirements in relation to Health and Safety as outlined in the Safety, Health and Welfare Act 2005 and the Hospital Safety Statement. Training & Development: Attend and/or present at IT related conferences, training courses or events as required. Engage in IT related Education & Training activities, including active participation in appropriate and approved research activities in the Informatics domain. Stay updated on advancements in healthcare informatics and IT best practices. User Support: Prepare for and deliver IT related training as required to hospital staff to enhance system proficiency and adoption. Providing services in any of the agencies to which the hospital provides relevant services, particularly at hospital group level. Assisting with the delivery of meaningful report data to support patient care delivery, hospital management and ongoing improvement projects. Delivery Phase: Configuration and Testing Using verbal and written communication skills, in addition to project management or communication software to co-ordinate configuration activities with stakeholders within the hospital and with external suppliers. Supporting the development of a testing strategy, test scripts and participating in the testing of the applications, information flows and end to end integrated workflows. Ensuring testing activity is completed, tracked and is consistent with deadlines. Analysing and reviewing test progress and helping to identify recommendations to maintain schedules. Raising any risks or issues highlighted through testing to the appropriate level. Academic/Professional Qualifications and/or relevant Experience Required: Each candidate must: Have no less than two years satisfactory experience in a related/transferable role Possess sufficient administrative and technical capacity to discharge the grade functions Have knowledge/experience of working with or supporting hospital IT systems Have experience (or understanding) of the working relationships within a large hospital Desirable: IT / Health Informatics Course Project experience *This position may be subject to Garda Vetting and Foreign Police Clearance, if applicable you will be required to obtain these prior to commencing in this role* Unijobs is an equal opportunities employer.
