The opportunity We are looking for an experienced Corporate Finance professional to join our high performing team as a Senior Manager. EY has an established industry leading Transactions & Corporate Finance practice. We focus on advising our clients on their corporate finance agenda including strategic planning, capital allocation decision making, portfolio optimization, and throughout the entire deal life-cycle. Your key responsibilities As a Senior Manager within the VME Corporate Finance team, you are likely to spend your day-to-day working on commercial issues, liaising with client or target management on parts of the transaction process or transformation plans, and regularly undertaking valuations for strategic priorities. You will manage the project team, working closely with all team members as well as forming strong internal links within VME and other departments in EY. You will understand the key business drivers, co-developing our approach with the client, agreeing value measurements with the client, providing value to the client through insights, factual conclusions and advice. You will plan, prepare and review deliverables in various forms including financial models and analysis, written reports, presentations and discussions with the client. You will understand the capabilities of the firm and look for opportunities to sell additional services to our clients. You will also help to create a positive learning culture for junior team members and support their development. You will take the responsibility for your own learning and development, provide coaching to others, and participate in upward feedback. As part of your role in the wider team, you’ll have a role to play in other team initiatives – for example, account management, client service frameworks and recruitment. Skills and attributes for success
- Strategic – you will help clients identify sources of value creation and quantify it. You will need to have a solution-oriented mind-set to act as a true Corporate Finance advisor to leverage on EY capabilities and assist clients in solving their issues and unlocking potential for value growth.
- Commercial – as part of the team you will regularly advise businesses on valuations issues with regards to acquisition, divestitures or restructuring and provide advice and decision support on transactions and restructurings.
- Financial – your financial and accounting expertise and experience will underpin the bespoke advice and corporate finance solutions provided to clients.
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business from a leading internationally recognized University, and at least 8 years of relevant work experience.
- In-depth understanding as well as expertise in valuation methodologies, forecasting and scenario planning, and transaction life-cycles.
- Expert financial modelling skills including experience of building complex models from inception, with the ability to overlay complex funding and deal structures.
- Good understanding of IFRS standards and impact of accounting-related issues on valuation and pricing.
- Previous valuation and/or M&A experience gained in Big 4 / Investment Banking / Private Equity.
- Experience of investment appraisal and evaluation, with robust understanding of all commercial aspects of a transaction and potential impact on risk, deal structure, and pricing.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the entire deal life-cycle from both a sell-side and buy-side perspective.
- Experience of reviewing and challenging transaction-related legal documentation.
- Achievement of a CFA or equivalent internationally recognized professional qualification.
- Understanding of the Saudi (or broader GCC) market dynamics.
- Excellent Business Development skills.
- Arabic language skills (although not mandatory).
