Job Description AESG is seeking a passionate and driven Sustainability Consultant to work within AESG's award-winning Sustainability Department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sustainability and a willingness to work across multiple disciplines and industries to drive the market towards more sustainable development. The successful candidate will form part of AESG's dynamic Sustainability Development department. The role will include independent project management of complex design and construction projects, covering all aspects of sustainability on various landmark giga-projects. Key Responsibilities:

  1. LEED/Mostadam Certification Management: Oversee and manage certification processes during the construction phase, ensuring compliance with project-specific goals and credit requirements. Guide construction teams in implementing best practices, such as energy optimization, water efficiency, and material sustainability, to meet prerequisites and credits. Act as the primary liaison between the project team and the certification boards such as GBCI and Sustainable Buildings.
  2. Sustainability and Environmental Criteria Compliance: Sustainable Sites: Implement strategies to manage construction activity pollution, erosion and sedimentation and protect adjacent ecosystems. Energy and Atmosphere: Oversee energy efficiency measures, energy metering, and energy performance of building systems. Materials and Resources: Strong background in the material reviews and approval process, requirements and coordination. Ensure responsible sourcing and documentation of sustainable materials, construction waste management, and recycling initiatives. Indoor Environmental Quality: Validate indoor air quality plans, inspections, and IAQ testing results and monitor the use of low-emission materials during construction.
  3. Documentation Management: Prepare, collect, and review all necessary documentation to support LEED and Mostadam submissions, such as Construction Waste Management Plans and Reports. Maintain an organized, accessible database of all project documentation to ensure readiness for audits or certification reviews.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination: Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and project teams to ensure seamless integration of LEED and Mostadam requirements into construction workflows. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, verify compliance with sustainability goals, and address any challenges. Provide technical guidance and sustainability training to project stakeholders to ensure alignment with LEED and Mostadam criteria.
  5. Reporting and Certification Submissions: Develop detailed LEED and Mostadam tracking matrices to monitor project compliance with sustainability goals. Submit final LEED and Mostadam documentation packages to the GBCI and SB ensuring accurate and complete submissions. Prepare and present sustainability reports for internal and client-facing stakeholders to showcase progress and outcomes.
Education /Experience:
  1. The candidate must have a degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering, Architecture, or Environmental Science), with further post-graduate education desirable (e.g., Master's degree), along with demonstrated work experience within the field.
  2. Five or more years of experience across the sustainability field within the built environment.
  3. Professional qualification and work experience with the development, and/or implementation of Sustainability Rating Systems such as LEED, Mostadam.
  4. Proven track record of successfully leading a sustainability program, policies, and regulatory frameworks.
  5. The candidate will be expected to work across numerous software platforms, including Microsoft Office, InDesign, Rhino, and Grasshopper. Knowledge of IES is beneficial.
