Head of Architecture

I am seeking a Head of Architecture who will be responsible for all things enterprise and solutions architecture as well as driving adoption of the platform strategy for the business. Apart from thinking strategy and architecting product and platform engineered solutions, this role will lead and grow a team of talented architects to ensure architectural leadership depth and alignment across the broader Technology team. With the appointment of a new CTO, this is a new era of leadership, direction, and strategy to drive the company forward all whilst working in a transparent, fun & engaging, diverse environment. Exciting times! The type of candidate I'm looking for will ultimately have worked in industries which have low latency and high volume aspects to them. So having a background working as a software engineer building these products will be regarded as highly favorable.

Responsibilities & Skills

1. Grow and develop a team of architects to provide skills and leadership depth to enable the architecture practice to scale across business domains.
2. Must have held an architecture leadership role with an understanding of theories and practices in architecture.
3. Develop a target state architecture aligned to the platform strategy and implement strong architectural governance for design, build, and deployment of new applications and services.
4. Experience creating solution architectures across enterprise or specific functional domains.
5. Previous hands-on experience across different programming languages, technology best practices, technology platforms and frameworks, and cloud providers i.e. Azure.
6. Embed the architecture perspective within cross-functional delivery teams that ultimately will lead to high quality, scalable, and resilient implementations, and be a mentor for those teams who obsess about their products and platform capabilities.
7. Adopt practices to secure our customer's data and protect their information privacy.
8. A security mindset with the ability to engage and work with security specialists.
9. Provide thought leadership in architecture, engineering, new technologies including Gen AI, and enable the platform strategy by facilitating and demonstrating concept solutions that demonstrate application of these new technologies.
