About the role: The Technical Project Manager oversees the project management, planning, execution, tracking, and reporting of new product development and lifecycle management projects in accordance with agreed upon scope, timing, and budget. The role requires driving cross functional project execution through collaboration with various functional groups, including R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Operations and Commercial teams. Your key duties and responsibilities:
- Consistently project manage and deliver projects to ensure completion on time within the agreed scope and budget.
- Work with cross functional project teams to provide a coordinated and collaborative approach to New Product Development and Lifecycle Management projects.
- Create detailed work plans for assigned projects which identify and sequence the activities needed to successfully complete each project and establish the resources (time, money, capital equipment, etc.) required to complete the project activities.
- Work within a cross functional team to ensure workstreams are appropriately planned and integrated into master schedules.
- Develop communication plan and provide updates on assigned projects to stakeholders.
- Review project schedules with senior management and project team members; revise schedules/plan as required to ensure successful completion.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks. Escalate as appropriate to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
- Manage compliance to both Design Control and Business processes, such as preparation for Gate reviews with core team and ensuring rigorous adherence to IDEAL, the Convatec new product development process.
- Set up files to ensure all project information is appropriately documented and secured.
- Support the PMO to develop and enhance project management tools, processes, and systems to ensure consistent and efficient ways of working.
- Can make decisions in consult with the New Product Delivery Lead on timeline e.g. opportunities to accelerate. Is expected to challenge assumptions provided by all project stakeholders with the aim of ensuring accuracy and quality in aggressive yet realistic timelines.
- 2+ years of experience successfully managing and delivering New Product Development or Lifecycle management projects.
- Prior experience developing medical devices strongly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in the use of MS Word, MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, database software, MS Outlook, Project Management Cloud Software.
- Strong communicator; Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.
- Leader and team-worker who actively looks to develop themselves and others; proactively networks across a complex organizational hierarchy and works cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals and resolve problems.
- BS in Engineering or Science discipline; MS preferred.
- Project management certification is preferred (CAPM, APM or equivalent).
- Position may involve travel up to 10% of the time, within the United States and Europe. Most trips will include overnight travel.
