Job Description Nine is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to join our Group Financial Accounting team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the financial operations of Australia's largest media company, with a focus on maintaining high financial standards, ensuring accurate reporting, and driving process improvements. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the General Ledger to ensure proper financial transactions in line with Australian Accounting Standards (AAS).
- Support month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and account reconciliations. Collaborate with finance teams for accurate reporting.
- Assist in preparing documentation for external audits, ensuring compliance with requirements.
- Implement strong internal controls and identify areas for process improvement in accounting systems and reporting.
- Provide analysis of financial performance, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and offer variance explanations.
- Work closely with divisional Business Partnering finance teams and external auditors to ensure accurate financial data and effective decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA/CA (or equivalent) qualification or in progress is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in financial accounting, ideally within the media, entertainment, or broadcasting sectors. Experience in a group finance function is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Microsoft D365) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups).
- Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards (AAS) and financial reporting principles.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to provide insights from financial data.
- Clear communication skills, able to explain complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
