Marine Project Manager – Job Description Job Summary: The Marine Project Manager oversees and manages marine-related projects, including shipbuilding, vessel repairs, offshore installations, and maritime infrastructure developments. This role ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality and regulatory standards. The Marine Project Manager collaborates with engineers, shipyard teams, regulatory bodies, and clients to drive successful project execution. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & Execution: Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations. Oversee the execution of shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore, or marine infrastructure projects. Ensure projects align with business objectives and client requirements. Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between shipowners, contractors, engineers, and regulatory agencies. Conduct regular meetings to update stakeholders on project progress and address concerns. Manage subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely and quality project delivery. Regulatory Compliance & Safety: Ensure all projects comply with IMO, SOLAS, ABS, DNV, and other maritime regulations. Oversee risk assessments and implement safety protocols. Maintain documentation for regulatory approvals and classification society requirements. Budgeting & Cost Control: Develop project budgets and monitor expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness. Identify potential cost overruns and implement corrective measures. Approve vendor contracts, procurement, and resource allocations. Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance: Supervise marine engineering teams, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to technical specifications. Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards. Troubleshoot project-related technical challenges and provide effective solutions. Risk Management & Problem-Solving: Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Resolve challenges related to supply chain disruptions, regulatory approvals, or technical setbacks. Adapt project plans in response to unforeseen circumstances or new requirements. Must know well about Honing programming also. Qualifications & Skills: 5+ years of experience in project management within the marine, shipbuilding, offshore, or maritime industry. Strong understanding of marine operations, vessel construction, repair, and maintenance. Proficiency in project management methodologies (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile). Knowledge of maritime regulations, classification society requirements, and HSE standards. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience managing budgets, contracts, and stakeholder relationships. Ability to work in shipyards, offshore environments, or port facilities as needed.
