We’ve got what you’re looking for. Job Description: Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Procurement Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will get to participate in various procurement functions to ensure the quality, efficiency, and timeliness of services provided to clients and project personnel, while managing procurement activities for specialized areas such as traffic coordination and material procurement. What You'll Be Doing:
- Ensuring timely delivery of equipment and materials to job sites by liaising with suppliers and tracking purchase orders.
- Collaborating with Buyers during pre-award processes, preparing bidder lists, issuing Request for Quotations (RFQs), analyzing bids, and making recommendations for awards.
- Assisting in post-award activities like obtaining vendor data, processing invoices, and preparing for project closeout and record storage.
- Serving as the primary contact for procurement document distribution and coordination across project teams.
- Reviewing material requisitions for completeness and accuracy, and collaborating with project engineering for further processing.
- Monitoring the procurement lifecycle, including bid requests, purchase order preparation, and supplier follow-up to ensure timely action.
- Overseeing purchase order records, including ensuring the accurate logging of supplier contacts and tracking of purchase order statuses.
- If applicable, coordinating the safe and economical delivery of materials and equipment as a Traffic Specialist, optimizing transportation modes, carriers, rates, and routing.
- Performing analytical studies to assess the efficiency of transportation services, and negotiating contract rates.
- Managing and maintaining procurement records, ensuring smooth and efficient project progression.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- 4+ years of related work experience in procurement.
- Proficiency in procurement processes within a major engineering or industrial firm, including vendor data control, expediting, and purchasing activities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with procurement software, particularly DMCS, for managing purchase orders and related records.
- Experience with procurement in engineering and construction projects, particularly in specialized areas like traffic coordination and logistics.
- A strong understanding of supply chain management, vendor negotiations, and material/equipment handling for large-scale projects.
- Previous experience working closely with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
