Manager - External Catering (Airports & Events)

Overall responsibility of managing the airport and events program, including the day-to-day running of all the catering services at all sites. Ensure efficiency in operations, enhancing the revenues along with cost control mechanisms. Reviews standard and quality of services provided and submits recommendations for improvements. Manages the operational budget of airport lounges (including Royal and Awal Terminals), staff canteens and ad-hoc events to ensure maximum productivity through resource utilization. Main Duties:
  • Directs and manages the activities of the assigned personnel in all locations and events and performs supervisory duties at the level established by management, ensuring consistent & robust delivery of contracts and agreements.
  • Maintains robust organization structure ensuring qualified and appropriate personnel are in each role and facilitating timely communication and requests to Human Capital to minimize vacancies and performance issues.
  • Coordinates and delivers all special events linked to airline and customers, both internally and externally, ensuring delivery meets customer expectations and requirements.
  • Operates a model of continuous improvement, measured against customer metrics, e.g. NPS, for all policies and procedures, ensuring regular reviews are carried out and adjustments made to keep them fit for purpose.
  • Coordinates all menu and special dietary requirement development across all stakeholders, ensuring timely refresh and comprehensive communications.
  • Ensures compliance with customer specifications and service requirements, confirming that all standards and specifications are accurate to deliver quality service and maintain client trust.
  • Manages all staff training programs, ensuring full compliance in all mandatory and role specific courses.
  • Monitors and reports on all customer complaints and compliments, ensuring timely investigations are completed and appropriate responses are provided to improve service quality and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Engages with airline and airport customers to develop new and innovative product and service concepts, ensuring Company drives growth measurable enhancements for customers.
  • Comply with Company's and airport authorities’ health, safety & security requirements.
  • Carries out other similar or related duties as directed by the management.
Education: A minimum of bachelor’s degree in hospitality and/or Hotel Management. Experience: A minimum of 8 years’ experience leading Hospitality in 5-star hotels, experience in airport operating environment an advantage. A minimum of 8 years’ experience in delivery Hospitality services for largescale, multi-site events. Other Essential Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
  • Thorough understanding of Catering policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work well with others within a culturally diverse environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
