About the role We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead our global Cost of Goods (COGS) and Inventory accounting function. You will oversee the accounting transactions and reporting for material purchases, movement of goods, variance to standard tracking, capitalization of inventory, reconciliation, inventory reserve analysis, and other necessary COGS and inventory activities across multiple brands in multiple geographies. This role is critical to driving improved accuracy, greater efficiency, and stronger controls in our accounting processes. As a rapidly growing and evolving company, the ideal candidate must be adaptable and able to support complex integrations and system changes. This role will report to the Global Controller and work closely with the finance and accounting team, as well as the Purchasing and Logistics team. The role is currently supported by one Accounting Specialist but is expected to grow as we expand. The position will be based in our Singapore Finance headquarters. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Oversee the accounts payable operations related to production and logistics, ensuring accurate cost allocation and timely processing. Manage payment processing, ensuring alignment with production timelines. Landed Costs, Inventory Reconciliation, and COGS Management Analyze and report on cost of goods sold (COGS) to support financial decision-making. Monitor and analyze COGS variances, providing insights to management. Perform inventory reconciliation and validate product costing at different stages of production/delivery. Collaborate with the logistics and purchasing teams to ensure all landed cost components are captured and allocated correctly. Develop and implement processes to track and report landed costs accurately. Reconcile landed costs and closing inventory value between current systems (Xero and Cin7 Omni). Monitor and resolve discrepancies in landed cost and inventory valuations. Provide training and support to team members on new processes and systems related to landed costs, inventory reconciliation, and COGS management. Operational Support Assist in daily, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including passing of accrual and closing journal entries. Review and substantiate invoices. Handle other ad hoc activities/projects as assigned. Financial Reporting and Compliance Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Maintain compliance with company policies and financial standards. Reconcile bank transactions in accounting software. Provide support for financial audits. Business Partnering and Collaboration Partner with various departments to support financial business decisions. Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors. NetSuite Transition Support Support the transition to NetSuite, ensuring seamless integration and accurate data migration. Collaborate with IT, finance teams, and external consultants to map existing processes to the new system. Identify potential challenges and develop solutions to ensure a smooth transition. Conduct testing and validation of data migration to ensure accuracy. Provide training and support to team members on NetSuite functionalities and processes. Role requirements 5+ years of professional accounting experience in a fast-paced, consumer goods industry. Minimum 2-4 years of proven financial analysis (income statement and balance sheet management) experience. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Understanding of IFRS is beneficial. Experience with landed cost reconciliation and inventory management. Strong knowledge of cost accounting and basic knowledge of cash flow management. Proficiency in accounting systems, with experience in Xero and/or Cin7 Omni, and the ability to support the transition to NetSuite. Strong analytical skills with spreadsheet expertise across Google Sheets and Excel. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to navigate through unstructured/ambiguous data and make decisions independently. Commercial focus and financial acumen. Good organizational and time management skills to deal with multiple deliverables and tight timelines. Adaptability and ability to work in a dynamic environment. Continuous improvement and process change mindset. Collaborative and effective communication across accounting and business functions.
