LAB MANAGER

About the role We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Lab Manager to join our team at the Sarawak Science Centre Sdn Bhd in Miri, Sarawak. As the Lab Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our laboratory, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of technical services to support our research and development initiatives, and in promoting STEM activities. What you'll be doing

1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, including scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control procedures.
2. Oversee the procurement, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory equipment and instruments.
3. Develop and implement standard operating procedures to ensure the laboratory operates at the highest levels of efficiency and safety.
4. Coordinate the work of laboratory technicians and researchers, providing guidance and support as needed.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute research projects, offering technical expertise and insights.
6. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and implement continuous improvements to laboratory operations.
7. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a laboratory management role, preferably within the science and technology industry.
2. At least a Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or technical field such as Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or any equivalent qualification.
3. Demonstrated expertise in the management and operation of advanced laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
4. Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide meaningful insights.
5. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a proven track record of finding innovative solutions.
6. Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate a diverse team of professionals.
7. Thorough understanding of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, and the ability to ensure full compliance.
