Asset Manager - 3 Waters & Land Drainage

  • This full-time position is available in either Mangawhai or Dargaville with WFH options.
About the opportunity: Step into this newly created role, focusing on the strategic management of water, wastewater, stormwater, and land drainage assets within Council. By collaborating with various teams and stakeholders, you'll help drive sound investments and effectively address community needs. Key responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining a strategic overview of water-related assets: ensuring effective planning to deliver level of service targets and comply with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Managing network models, developing catchment management plans and contributing to relevant policies and plans.
  • Collaborating on development consent applications and support planning for Private Plan Changes.
  • Overseeing asset condition assessments: analyse and collect asset data, prepare project documentation, and ensure accurate information transfer to the asset management system.
About you: Are you ready to make a meaningful impact with your expertise in asset management and strategic planning? To thrive in this role, you'll bring:
  • A qualification in engineering, infrastructure asset management, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in planning, designing or managing water infrastructure.
  • Expertise in asset management and long-term strategic planning.
  • Strong relationship-building, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Experience collaborating with or working for local government entities.
