To lead the government relations efforts of Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) by building and maintaining relationships with relevant government organizations in Abu Dhabi and the UAE to ensure that the organization is well represented amongst relevant stakeholders and to facilitate efficient and effective coordination between ENEC and Government External Stakeholders; to ensure the positive relation between GSEC, other Government Stakeholders and ENEC, which has relevance to the organization, and enhances ENEC's picture among Government Stakeholders.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  1. Act as a central point of contact for institutional relations between ENEC and Abu Dhabi Government entities, as well as Government-owned companies, as defined in the ENEC stakeholder map, to ensure timely resolution of any concerns and provision of accurate and consistent information concerning ENEC.
  2. Strengthen relations with government officials in Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates in order to advocate for ENEC’s vision, mission, and corporate reputation.
  3. Serve as a focal point liaison between ENEC and external government agencies and keep ENEC apprised of any external government activities which may have an impact on ENEC’s interests.
  4. Manage and supervise the information flow between ENEC and government entities, ensuring timely and accurate responses to Government Stakeholder queries.
  5. Lead building a sustainable relationship between ENEC and Government Stakeholders based on transparency and integrity.
  6. Lead the implementation of external affairs policy with respect to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi on issues and areas of interest of ENEC in order to inform and influence public policy.
  7. Coordinate with external bodies to ensure alignment of messaging from Corporate & Strategic Communications on the UAE Civil Nuclear Energy Program.
  8. Develop ENEC progress reports, and address them to relevant government entities to ensure that they are aware of relevant project milestones and successes.
  9. Develop regular and ad hoc Government Executive Reports in order to update Abu Dhabi Government leaders with the latest updates of ENEC programs.
  10. Work closely with internal departments in ENEC, using communications tools, to support obtaining necessary governmental and regulatory approvals and addressing any arising issues with Government Stakeholders.
  11. Lead preparation of correspondence to Government Stakeholders, as required, and coordinate with concerned internal stakeholders to ensure provision of adequate information.
  12. Build positive relationships internally, within ENEC in order to efficiently and effectively collect the required information and also by diligently monitoring the ECAS system and other correspondence systems between Government Stakeholders in order to address any matter, request, complaint or suggestion on time.
  13. Monitor and report all Government Stakeholder circulars, which may affect ENEC’s development plans, and highlight any changes or amendments, which require further attention and implementation from relevant internal stakeholders, in order to ensure the organization remains fully compliant to various legislations.
  14. Manage the communication of both internal and external stakeholders in order to build and nurture mutually beneficial working relationships.
  15. Coordinate with internal stakeholders in order to develop provision of timely, accurate and complete information for Government Stakeholders to support building trust and sustainable relations.
  16. Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls across the Department by the delivery of the Health and Safety Management Program to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality services and a responsible environmental attitude.
  17. Follow all relevant Security policies, processes, procedures, and instructions to ensure security compliance in all aspects of work, by applying them on self, others, and corporate assets.
  18. Ensure compliance with Business Continuity and Resilience requirements for adherence to policies, procedures and instructions related to the effective planning for, and response to, incidents and/or business disruptions in order to continue critical business processes and activities with minimal adverse impact.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications or Public Relations 7 to 12 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of local Abu Dhabi governmental bodies and agencies.
