SAP SDMM Consultant

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented SAP SDMM Functional Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the implementation, customization, and ongoing support of the SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) and Materials Management (MM) modules. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into functional specifications, configure the SAP system, and ensure the successful deployment and maintenance of the SAP SDMM solution. Key Responsibilities: SAP SD & MM Module Implementation & Configuration:

• Perform full-cycle SAP SD and MM module implementation including requirement gathering , blueprinting, configuration, testing, training, and Go-live support.
• Configure SAP SD functionalities, including order management, pricing, billing, sales support, and shipping.
• Configure SAP MM functionalities, including purchasing, inventory management, material master, and vendor management.
• Integrate SD and MM modules with other SAP modules (FI/CO, WM, PP) to ensure smooth data flow across different business processes.

• Work with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather and document business requirements for SAP SD and MM processes.
• Identify gaps between the business requirements and SAP functionalities, and propose effective solutions to close those gaps.
• Provide recommendations for process improvements based on best practices within the SAP SDMM landscape.

• Implement and customize the SAP SD module to support sales order processing, pricing, billing, shipping, and credit management.
• Configure the SAP MM module to meet the requirements for procurement, inventory management, and materials valuation.
• Manage the cross-module configuration between SD and MM to ensure proper integration and data consistency.

• Lead the testing efforts for SAP SD and MM configurations, including unit testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and performance testing.
• Identify and resolve defects or issues encountered during testing and support the user acceptance process.

• Create and maintain training materials for end-users, ensuring that users are well-trained on new SAP SDMM processes.
• Provide training sessions for end-users to ensure smooth adoption and proper use of SAP SD and MM functionalities.
• Develop detailed documentation for configurations, customizations, and processes to support ongoing maintenance and upgrades.

• Provide post-implementation support and resolve issues in the SAP SD and MM modules as they arise.
• Offer continuous improvements to the SAP SD and MM functionalities based on feedback and changing business needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to SAP SDMM processes, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

• Collaborate with other SAP consultants (e.g., FI/CO, WM, PP) to ensure seamless integration of SAP systems.
• Work closely with business users to ensure that the SAP SDMM solution aligns with their day-to-day business requirements and objectives.
• Act as a liaison between technical teams and business teams, ensuring that both sides are aligned on project goals and deliverables.

• Assist in project planning , including estimating time and resources required for SAP SDMM-related tasks.
• Ensure that project milestones and deadlines are met according to the project plan.
• Document project progress and assist with preparing status reports for stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science , Engineering , Business Administration , or a related field.
• SAP certification in SAP SD and/or SAP MM is a plus.

• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as an SAP SDMM Functional Consultant or in a similar SAP functional role.
• Proven experience with end-to-end SAP SDMM implementations , upgrades, or rollouts.
• Solid understanding of SAP SDMM integration with other modules (FI/CO, WM, PP, etc.).

• Strong knowledge of SAP SD (Sales and Distribution) and SAP MM (Materials Management) modules, including configuration and functional processes.
• Experience with SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA versions.
• Knowledge of ABAP debugging for troubleshooting and working with technical teams (not mandatory but advantageous).
• Proficiency with SAP Fiori and SAP S/4HANA UI experience is a plus.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with business users, project managers, and technical teams.
• Ability to translate business requirements into SAP solutions.
• Understanding of business processes in the sales, distribution, procurement, and inventory management areas.

• Experience with SAP IDOC processing, ALE/EDI interfaces, or third-party integration is a plus.
• Familiarity with SD/MM reporting and custom reporting in SAP (e.g., using SAP Query, SAP BW, or SAP BI).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work on several projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology for project management is advantageous.
