1. POSITION VACANT: Communications Manager - Asia, Cure Blindness Project, India (New Delhi) or Nepal (Kathmandu)2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND: Founded in 1995, the Cure Blindness Project (CBP) is a global nonprofit organization driven to help people retain or regain their sight. Over 43 million people worldwide are blind, and 295 million suffer from vision impairment, with 90% living in low- and middle-income countries where access to eye care is limited. However, 80% of this burden is preventable or treatable, with simple interventions like cataract surgery, restoring sight to millions. For more than 25 years, the CBP has worked to eliminate avoidable blindness by building cost-effective, high-quality eye care systems in underserved areas. In collaboration with partners in over 25 countries, the organization has performed 1.4 million sight-restoring surgeries, screened 14.5 million people, and trained over 19,500 eye health professionals. As the organization expands to scale impact, CBP is seeking passionate leaders who are dedicated to making a difference, driving change, and fostering a positive team environment to help reach new heights in the fight against blindness. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES: The CBP is seeking a communications professional who brings together strategic insight, creativity, and analytical acumen. Reporting to the Associate Vice President – Asia along with matrixed reporting to the Director – Marketing , the Communications Manager – Asia (CMA) shall work closely with global marketing teams to align with broader marketing initiatives, driving brand awareness and action across the region through a well-crafted and impactful communications plan. The post holder shall collaborate with regional and global marketing leadership to develop and execute brand and communication strategies that effectively represent the CBP 's mission and achievements across the Asia region. S/he will be focused on increasing visibility, inspiring action, and engaging key audiences to support the organization’s goals. Key Job Responsibilities: (A) Communication Strategy and Brand Management (1) Work with the marketing team to develop a Marketing/Communications strategy within the Asia region to drive greater awareness of Cure Blindness with key audiences; (2) Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including fundraising, to align communication efforts with organizational goals and donor engagement strategies; (3) Serve as CBP’s brand ambassador, creating and maintaining key messages to be on-brand, and effective and highlighting the dignity and resilience of the people served. (B) Content Creation and Storytelling (1) Lead storytelling initiatives within the Asia region to capture and tell the story of the organization’s work, highlighting the multiple pillars of programming focus areas to drive audiences to begin/ continue to support CBP ; (2) Manage multiple projects and drive the content creation process from start to finish, collaborating with multiple stakeholders to deliver the most effective work product on time in a fast-paced environment. (C) Communications and Marketing Support (1) Continuously refine communications products and channels, in particular materials that represent CBP’s work in Asia; (2) Provide marketing support to CBP teams in the Asia region and ensure they have on-brand, effective materials to enable their work; (3) Provide complete media and social media, branding, and (sometimes) design support, for key CBP milestone events. (D) Project and Vendor Management Leverage project management tools, client/ customer satisfaction tracking mechanisms and the content activation calendar to fuel effectiveness and operational excellence. 4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES: Qualification Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. Experience Applicants must have a minimum of four years of experience in marketing, communications, and public relations, including significant experience in the Asia region, preferably within a non-profit or a global organization. Skills and Competencies (1) Excellent writing/ editing and verbal communication skills. Ability to create turnkey content that works across multiple platforms. A skilful interviewer who can dig deeper into subjects to tell compelling, interesting stories; (2) An organized self-starter with a data-driven mind and strong problem-solving skills; (3) Demonstrates a fundamental respect for the dignity of others. Works collegially, values diverse perspectives, and leverages individual strengths while building a collaborative, positive team dynamic; (4) Values collaboration with cross-functional partners to deliver strong results at the organizational and department levels; (5) An innovator, capable of creating or seizing opportunities to improve marketing effectiveness and outcomes and build strategic partnerships with other organizations; (6) Dynamic, energetic, team-player with a strong work ethic, confidence, and sense of humour; (7) Flexibility to work during off hours, nights, and weekends when needed; (8) Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time. Additional Qualifications: (1) Eager to join a nonprofit institution poised to expand global operations; (2) Outgoing personality that can collaborate with a variety of personalities at all levels of the organization, building relationships and shared goals across departments and partner organizations; (3) A sense of discretion and a high degree of professionalism is required, with the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information; (4) Demonstrates a highly professional and cooperative demeanour with supervisors, coworkers and partners; (5) Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills; (6) Detail oriented and able to efficiently prioritize tasks; (7) Flexibility to adjust and contribute to continually evolving work situations and changing priorities; (8) Excellent computer skills and technical aptitude; Proficient with Google Workspace, MS Office, Asana (and other cloud-based software), apart from MacOS, and experience with Apple hardware; (9) Committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Physical Requirements: (1) Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; (2) Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at a time. 5.
