Summary: The Analytical Chemist in the science and pharmaceutical industry is responsible for conducting chemical and physical analyses on samples to support research, development, and quality control activities. They play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of analytical data, maintaining laboratory equipment, and adhering to safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform chemical and physical analyses on samples using a variety of analytical techniques and instrumentation.
- Develop and validate analytical methods for the analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
- Analyze and interpret test results, ensuring accuracy and reliability of data.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and instruments, troubleshooting issues as needed.
- Prepare and standardize chemical solutions, reagents, and samples for analysis.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) during all laboratory activities.
- Document and record test results, observations, and other relevant data in laboratory notebooks or computer systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including researchers, scientists, and quality control personnel, to provide accurate and timely analytical data.
- Investigate and troubleshoot any deviations, abnormalities, or non-conformities in test results or instrument performance.
- Assist in the maintenance of laboratory inventory, including reagents and supplies, and order new materials as needed.
