As a medium sized, agile team, we are passionate about tackling the most complex security challenges for our clients. We’re looking for a Director of Marketing to help us build on the marketing foundations we have in place today and extend building our brand, growing our presence in the cybersecurity industry, and driving measurable business results. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced marketer who thrives in fast moving startup type environment but has the strategic insight gained from working in similar corporate environments already. Role Overview As the Director of Marketing, you will be responsible for building and executing our marketing strategy from the ground up. In the first 9-12 months, you will take a hands-on approach, wearing multiple hats to study, change and establish our marketing foundation while owning all facets of marketing. Over time, you will transition into a leadership role, hiring and managing a team of marketing specialists to scale our efforts and align with business goals. We already have some foundational tools, processes, and campaigns in place that are working well. Your role will include assessing these existing assets, optimizing them, and implementing a structured, templated approach for future growth. We value continuity and expect you to build on what’s working while bringing your expertise to elevate our marketing efforts. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership · Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that supports business goals, with a focus on demand generation, brand positioning, and thought leadership. · Define and own KPIs for marketing efforts, ensuring alignment with sales and product teams. Assess & Optimize Existing Foundation · Evaluate the current marketing tools, content, and campaigns to identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement. · Use a structured and templated approach to refine processes, ensuring efficiency and scalability without reinventing the wheel. · Leverage what’s working to hit the ground running and avoid unnecessary disruptions. Content Creation & Thought Leadership · Craft high-quality content including blogs, white papers, case studies, and webinars tailored to cybersecurity professionals (CISOs, IT admins, etc.). · Drive thought leadership by developing messaging that resonates with target audiences and positions our company as an industry leader. Demand Generation · Create and execute integrated marketing campaigns, including email, paid search, social media, and digital advertising, to drive lead generation and nurture prospects. · Optimize website content for SEO to improve search rankings and attract organic traffic. Sales Enablement · Develop and maintain sales collateral, including product sheets, competitive analysis, and pitch decks. · Work closely with the sales team to align marketing efforts with revenue targets and ensure consistent messaging. Brand & PR Management · Build and maintain a consistent brand identity across all channels. · Manage relationships with industry analysts, media outlets, and PR agencies to amplify our voice in the cybersecurity market. Data & Analytics · Leverage analytics tools (e.g., HubSpot, Google Analytics, Salesforce) to measure campaign performance and optimize marketing spend. · Provide regular reporting and actionable insights to leadership. Team Growth · In 9-12 months, identify and hire key team members, including: o Content Marketing Specialist to enhance thought leadership and content efforts. o Growth Marketing Manager to drive performance marketing and lead acquisition. · Transition from hands-on execution to managing a high-performing marketing team. Partner Marketing & Enablement · Develop co-marketing initiatives with key partners to drive joint demand generation and amplify reach. · Collaborate with partner organizations to create joint value propositions, case studies, and marketing campaigns. · Build and maintain relationships with partner marketing teams to ensure alignment and mutual success. · Manage the development of partner-focused collateral, including partner playbooks, solution briefs, and co-branded materials. · Create a structured framework for partners to access and utilize marketing resources, including templates, tools, and guidelines. Channel Marketing · Design and execute channel marketing programs to support reseller, distributor, and alliance partner sales efforts. · Organize and manage joint events, webinars, and campaigns with partners to enhance visibility and engagement. · Establish metrics for measuring the ROI of partner marketing initiatives and report progress to leadership and partners. Partner Communication · Develop a cadence for regular communication with partners, such as newsletters, updates, and marketing enablement sessions. · Act as the primary marketing liaison between the company and its partners, ensuring seamless collaboration and execution. Brand & Reputation Management through Partners · Ensure consistent brand messaging and alignment in all partner-facing campaigns and materials. · Monitor and improve how the company is represented in partner ecosystems and marketplaces. Qualifications · Experience: 6-9+ years in marketing roles, with at least 3+ years in a leadership capacity, preferably in cybersecurity startups. · Industry Expertise: Proven track record of success in B2B marketing within cybersecurity, demonstrating an understanding of industry trends, buyer personas, and the competitive landscape. · Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is required; an MBA in Marketing from a reputable university is highly preferred · Corporate Insight: Experience in corporate environments in the US or Canada, with an understanding of marketing at scale and navigating complex sales cycles. · Content Creation: Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with experience producing high-quality technical and non-technical content. · Demand Generation: Hands-on experience with lead generation, digital advertising, and SEO. · Tools Proficiency: Familiarity with HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Analytics, or equivalent platforms. · Leadership Potential: Proven ability to lead and grow a team while maintaining hands-on execution when needed.
