This role is for Québec residents only. You can apply for the role as long as you are residing in the province of Québec and are eligible to work from there. All other applications will be ignored. We are backed by some of the most prominent venture firms including Fundrise, Nine Four VC, Foundation VC and YCombinator (S20). Our platform streamlines home inspections through our network of over 2,000 inspector partners in the US and Canada. Our proprietary inspection software and platform empower homeowners to discover and care for their home, bringing them visibility and data regarding their property. We are expanding our engineering team based in Montréal/Québec, that works in tandem with the rest of the product, engineering and data teams in Seattle and around the USA. We’re looking for a Computer Vision engineer to join our data and AI team to work on exciting computer vision projects. You’ll also be involved in helping us shape the architecture and framework for Computer Vision/Machine Learning related projects here at Inspectify. This is a fully remote job, but we get together from time to time for in person meetings and collaboration sessions (a couple of times a year) This role will report directly to our VP Engineering, based in Montréal. We collect millions of data points and media items every month (we manage end-to-end the whole data collection process). The models you’ll build will be used by our inspectors, customers and internal teams within our home inspection platform, so you’ll be working on very impactful projects. Responsibilities:
- Design, train and deploy computer vision algorithms and machine learning-powered product features
- Utilize machine learning techniques such as image classification/segmentation, pattern recognition, feature detection, edge detection, etc
- Set up and maintain an image annotation/model training platform
- Define and implement the architecture for Computer Vision projects
- Work with key stakeholders to help identify new model and algorithm to build
- Work with the engineering team to ensure proper usage of the model within Inspectify’s suite of software and architecture
- Work alongside the data and insights team to track adoption and usage of models
- 5+ years of experience as a Computer Vision Engineer or Machine Learning Engineer
- Professional experience building object detection models, anomaly identification models or other Computer Vision related models and algorithms, etc
- Strong programming skills with languages like Python, C++, Java, etc.
- Good knowledge of popular CV and image processing libraries (OpenCV, scikit-image, CUDA, CV-CUDA, etc)
- Knowledge of platforms such as Roboflow, Rekognition, Labelbox, Dataloop, SuperAnnotate, Telus, Supervisely, Scalabel, etc
- Strong communication skills and a great capacity to present and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audience
- Autonomy and comfortable with ambiguity and ability to adjust quickly in a dynamic environment
- Experience with LLMs and LVMs
- Previous experience in VC backed startups
- Background and understanding of the real estate market and proptech
- Good experience with cloud services providers like Heroku, AWS, GCP, etc
