Contract type: permanent Akkodis or freelance/inc Mode: hybrid (100% remote is not possible) Location: Longueuil Languages: English required Sector: aerospace Position: Safety Systems Engineer Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated Safety Systems Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and airworthiness of our products throughout their lifecycle. This role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering innovative safety solutions in aviation systems. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with airframers, airworthiness authorities, and internal teams to define safety requirements and ensure proper flow-down; prepare Preliminary System Safety Assessments (PSSAs) and Safety Plans.
- Conduct system safety analyses and participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to support engine design activities, including leading Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs).
- Validate that safety objectives are met through Functional Hazard Assessments (FHAs); prepare System Safety Assessments (SSAs) for engine certification and support aircraft-level certification activities.
- Perform technical analyses and develop solutions to address challenges encountered during development and in-service operations.
- Conduct risk assessments to support fleet management strategies, ensuring continued airworthiness.
- Exhibit strong interest and skills in leadership, teamwork, troubleshooting, and systems thinking to drive safety excellence across projects.
- Proven experience in aviation safety analysis and certification processes.
- Proficiency in safety assessment techniques (PSSA, FHA, FMEA, SSA).
- Strong technical and analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for cross-functional collaboration.
- A commitment to quality, innovation, and adherence to airworthiness standards.
