Land Surveyor

Job Description: Land Surveyor Bahrain Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Land Surveyor to join our team! What You'll Be Doing:

1. Conducts inspections to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications.
2. Performs inspection activities which may include the following:
   • Demolition of transportation facilities (roads, streets, bridges etc.)
   • Construction of roads, bridges, and other associated improvements (curb and gutter, street, sidewalk, landscaping)
   • Drainage work, traffic control, compliance with storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) requirements
   • Installation of electrical equipment related to traffic signals, ramp metering, and street lighting
   • Irrigation and planting
   • Roadway and overhead sign removal and installation
   • Installation of temporary and permanent signs and delineation
   • Installation of mechanical equipment
   • Building and facility construction and associated site development
   • Captures project photographs on a daily basis; file/organize
3. Maintains office files related to the project, quantity calculations, and writes daily diaries.
4. Prepares daily reports and other documentation, as required by the contract.
5. Verifies only approved materials are incorporated in the work.
6. Performs labor compliance interviews and maintains as-built plans.
7. Recognizes potential conflicts, issues, and problems; identifies possible solutions and advises supervisor.
8. Collects, reviews, and files Certificate of Compliance, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), inspection tags, and other information relevant to the materials used.
9. Reports on installed quantities to verify applications for payment and change order work.
10. Coordinates work of subconsultants for surveying and material testing.
11. Assists with the development of job safety practices and reports.
12. Supports the creation of quality control procedures and reports.
13. Responds to the call backs in case of emergency at the project site.
14. Documents nonconformance and may participate in determining appropriate resolution. May administer welder qualification tests.
15. May provide technical guidance to lower-level inspectors.
16. Performs work in a safe manner and is cognizant of public safety.
17. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

1. Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline is preferred.
2. Minimum 12 years of experience in a similar role.
3. Construction safety training, including 10 hours of OSHA training, is desired.
4. Experience in Roads, Bridges and infra projects in Bahrain or GCC country is preferred.
5. Certified in Highway Construction, Highway Design, and/or Highway Surveys is desired.
