Job Description: Land Surveyor Bahrain Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Land Surveyor to join our team! What You'll Be Doing:
- Conducts inspections to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications.
- Performs inspection activities which may include the following:
- Demolition of transportation facilities (roads, streets, bridges etc.)
- Construction of roads, bridges, and other associated improvements (curb and gutter, street, sidewalk, landscaping)
- Drainage work, traffic control, compliance with storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) requirements
- Installation of electrical equipment related to traffic signals, ramp metering, and street lighting
- Irrigation and planting
- Roadway and overhead sign removal and installation
- Installation of temporary and permanent signs and delineation
- Installation of mechanical equipment
- Building and facility construction and associated site development
- Captures project photographs on a daily basis; file/organize
- Maintains office files related to the project, quantity calculations, and writes daily diaries.
- Prepares daily reports and other documentation, as required by the contract.
- Verifies only approved materials are incorporated in the work.
- Performs labor compliance interviews and maintains as-built plans.
- Recognizes potential conflicts, issues, and problems; identifies possible solutions and advises supervisor.
- Collects, reviews, and files Certificate of Compliance, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), inspection tags, and other information relevant to the materials used.
- Reports on installed quantities to verify applications for payment and change order work.
- Coordinates work of subconsultants for surveying and material testing.
- Assists with the development of job safety practices and reports.
- Supports the creation of quality control procedures and reports.
- Responds to the call backs in case of emergency at the project site.
- Documents nonconformance and may participate in determining appropriate resolution. May administer welder qualification tests.
- May provide technical guidance to lower-level inspectors.
- Performs work in a safe manner and is cognizant of public safety.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline is preferred.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in a similar role.
- Construction safety training, including 10 hours of OSHA training, is desired.
- Experience in Roads, Bridges and infra projects in Bahrain or GCC country is preferred.
- Certified in Highway Construction, Highway Design, and/or Highway Surveys is desired.
