In 2020, PwC made a global science-based commitment to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. The commitment includes supporting our clients to reduce their emissions as well as reducing those from the PwC network’s operations and suppliers. We are looking for Sustainability & Decarbonization (Net Zero) Professionals to be part of our responsible business team and the larger global Net Zero agenda. You will be instrumental in driving our efforts and initiatives to achieve Net Zero by 2030. You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to develop tools and campaigns to raise awareness and promote sustainability initiatives within PwC. Key roles and responsibilities would include: The Role Ideally, you will have 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting, climate change or a related industry position. Within the Sustainability and Climate Change Capability Group, working with clients, your role will include:
- Leading and driving client relationships and service delivery in key focus areas including business decarbonisation, climate risk and resilience, GHG baseline & verification, and carbon markets.
- Working closely with our Energy Transition thematic priority team on go-to-market, including focus on Capital Projects & Infrastructure sectors given their higher climate risks.
- Helping our teams expand the range of services to our clients so that we are responsive to and anticipatory of emerging or future client needs and sector developments, e.g. internal carbon pricing proposition for tax, GHG/ climate verification with assurance, supply chain scope 3 emissions with consulting.
- Linking teams across the firm to be able to share and collaborate increasing the ability to make PwC’s best people credentials available to the greatest possible range of clients.
- Enabling the use and integration of digital assets that drive the efficiency and / or effectiveness of sustainability service offerings or enhance our client propositions, including PwC’s Sustainability Digital Tool’s and third-party tools and alliances.
- Developing market leading sustainability focused thought leadership in the climate change and carbon space, including linkages across our thematic Sustainability priorities, e.g. people and just transition needs to be at the centre of successful climate transformation.
- Strengthen our territory outlook to sustainability services in recognition that many of our clients (and our staff) see sustainability as inter-connected and as a series of developing, major trans-boundary issues requiring trans-boundary solutions.
- Proactively support the development of our people at PwC. Providing guidance, mentorship and coaching aligning to team development goals and upskilling requirements as part of the overall country growth strategy.
- Assessing the suitability of our climate change curriculum for internal and external and recommending new modules and changes to suit the needs of the firm and market.
- Working closely with the Malaysian & Vietnam Sustainability Leadership Team and PwC’s Asia Pacific Sustainability Centre of Excellence to support collaboration and capability needs to drive delivery success and create further learning opportunities for colleagues in the local firm.
- Building scalable climate related products and services that support continued replication efforts across our multi-sector pool of territory clients.
- Assess our monthly sustainability performance reports and highlight relevant trends and responses needed to increase conversion, pipeline, and market visibility.
- Detailed knowledge of issues surrounding climate change, energy, GHG emissions and sustainability
- Working knowledge of carbon accounting standards (ISO 14064, GHG Protocol)
- Working knowledge and experience of carbon accounting, carbon measurement techniques and calculation methods for Scopes 1, 2, and 3, LCA (Life Cycle Assessment)
- Familiarity with SBTi methodologies, CDP, TCFD, climate-related risk assessment, and scenario analysis
- First & Foremost, you need to be a 360 Consultant with experience and capability across all 3 pillars of BD/Revenue Generation, Project Delivery/Thought Leadership and Team Management.
- Knowledge and understanding of greenhouse gas accounting and reporting, carbon footprinting, and/or climate impact assessments of investments
- Strong data analysis skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel - ability to manage large data sets and build complex tools. Experience in data manipulation and visualization is an advantage.
- Strong technical writing skills with an ability to synthesize information and draft reports to a high standard.
- Good project management and coordination skills to manage multiple projects
- Deliver high-quality work, in a conscientious and professional manner
- Adaptable and agile to manage stakeholder requirements
- Keen interest in the topics, with transferable skills and the ability to learn quickly.
- University degree ideally in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, economics, quantitative finance.
