We are looking for Tech Savvy individuals interested in New / emerging technologies such as MicroServices, Azure and AWS.As a Senior Software Engineer within CVS Health's Oak Street business, you will be part of an agile development team, building and working on enterprise grade software systems leveraging cloud technology to build world class MicroServices to implement our next generation products.This role reports directly to the Engineering Manager of the team & is open to hybrid candidates who can be in the office in Galway two days a week.You will create impact by:Maintain high standards of software quality by writing high-quality code and following established standards and best practicesEnsure cross team collaboration with other Software Engineers, Business Analysts and Architects in the planning, design, development, testing, and maintenance of web- and desktop-based business applications is occurringWork with the Product Team in the refinement of user stories that are developer-ready, easy to understand, and testableProvide estimates at a User Story level and provide input to work plansParticipate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related codePackage and support deployment of code releasesAnalyze and resolve technical and application problemsAssess opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare documentation of rationale to share with team members and other affected partiesProvide third-level support to business usersProactively reviews the Performance and Capacity of all aspects of production: code, infrastructure, data, and message processingPerform unit and integration testing before launchResponsible for the security and privacy of any and all protected health information that may be accessed during normal work activitiesMentoring of more junior engineersWe're ideally looking for an engineer with:Bachelor degree in Computer Science or relevant degree / work experience10+ years of experience building consumer-facing products using any SPA frameworks (Angular/React/Vue) and building restful API Services using JVM-based technologies (Kotlin or Java), or .NET APIs running in the cloudExpert in "design first," documenting technical designs, and being able to decompose the design into consumable stories for your team.Must have experience with event-driven architecture, with Kafka being preferred.Expert in unit and integration testing with ability to achieve 80% + code coverage.Expert in building cloud native scalable microservicesExperience working in an Agile/Devops environmentExperience with application containerization and container managementExperience with messaging technologies like Kafka, Akka.Net, NServiceBus or RabbitMQPrior work with cloud-based systems, Azure experience preferredExposure to caching patterns and technologies (Redis, Couchbase, etc.)Exposure to Document DatabasesExperience with TDD and familiarity with Unit testing frameworksExperience doing Agile spikes on new ideas, and once decisions are made helping to carry out the implementationExperience with multi-layer architecture, architectural patterns and Dependency Injection frameworks. Experience with Mediator pattern, Domain Driven Design and ORMs strongly desiredStrong understanding of service oriented architecture principles and techniques, object-oriented design principles, and database design and implementationApply for this job
