Category Manager

We have an incredible opportunity for a motivated and driven individual to join our team as a Category Manager at our Wiri, Manukau location. We're looking for individuals with a commercial mindset who are passionate about driving growth through Category Management principles. This is a 12 month Fixed-Term role starting in February 2025. This pivotal role reports to the National Category Manager – Workwear and has massive potential to lead and further grow significant categories in our Workwear portfolio. You will own all product and range development within the assigned portfolio to achieve long-term strategic growth. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Building strategic relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
2. Develop and implement Category plans to achieve long-term strategic growth in line with business objectives.
3. Develop, implement and maintain pricing and sourcing strategies that maximise the opportunity for category growth and profitability.
4. Develop and implement marketing campaigns, sales tools, promotional material, and catalogues to drive sales and added value for our customers.
5. Analyse sales data and monitor market trends regularly to identify growth opportunities and anticipate market changes.
6. Manage the full product lifecycle for the products in your Category.

Our Ideal Candidate:

1. Proven buying, category management or product management experience in a Retail and B2B environment.
2. Proven product development experience.
3. Holds a graduate degree.
4. Is customer-focused.
5. Has strong negotiation skills.
6. Possesses exceptional collaboration and communication skills.
7. Can build long-term sustainable partnerships.
8. Has the ability to exercise initiative, judgment and discretion.
