Workshop Foreman

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Workshop ensuring optimum and consistent labour utilisation, labour deployment, and job efficiency.
• Manage a team of 10 Technicians in a busy environment.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Book in, by telephone, email, or personally, vehicles for service and repair.
• Generate estimates and invoices.
• Hand over the vehicle to the customer and explain any issues relating to the work/future work required.
• Meet with customers to identify and clearly understand problems as and when required.
• Ensure all work is carried out observing safe working practices.
• Complete relevant service documentation in line with Dealer and Manufacturer requirements.
• Check level and quality of work through the use of diagnostic equipment and road testing vehicles after work has been carried out.

• Ideally, but not essentially, a Qualified Mechanic or a person with 3 years’ experience in managing a Vehicle Workshop & team of Technicians.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office; experience of Assetminder would be an advantage.
• HGV / PSV licence is an advantage.
• Team player with the ability to work on their own initiative.
• Be flexible and prepared to work in any required areas.
