About the role: The UHC Payment Team is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager for the development, execution and valuation of initiatives focused on driving measurable and meaningful improvement in both quality and affordability of care. This is an exciting role in which the individual will have an opportunity to directly partner with executive level business champions to identify, evaluate and deploy projects at a national level spanning across multiple business segments, UHC and Optum departments. This is a challenging role that relies on your ability to effectively manage projects and build relationships with stakeholders. Your ability to use various methodologies and tools to collaborate in a cross-matrix environment will drive long term success keeping projects on track within the project scope and timeline. Primary Responsibilities of the Senior Project Manager:

1. Lead or help develop project scope statements, in consultation with applicable stakeholders (e.g., program / project charter, Statement of Work, Business Vision Document) for the delivery of key strategic and affordability initiatives.
2. Drive strategic initiatives across various functions within the business from inception through post deployment monitoring.
3. Develop and maintain project plans, tasks, deliverables, dependencies and resource requirements.
4. Lead coordination and completion of projects across various functional areas.
5. Provide regular project updates that cover program implementation plans / project risk / issue management plans and strategies (e.g., mitigation, avoidance, transfer, acceptance).
6. Establish / apply quality objectives, criteria, standards and levels using appropriate quality management methods, with stakeholder input (e.g., key performance indicators, scope definition).
7. Monitor and document project milestones and outcomes throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to established quality standards.
8. Monitor and control projects ensuring efficient utilization of project resources.
9. Provide input into and/or develop relevant policies, procedures, and/or work tools to support new or updated business processes.
10. Ensure seamless transition from project ideation and strategy through implementation to the business owners as needed.
11. Establish best practices and tools to grow services.

Required Qualifications of the Senior Project Manager:

1. BA/BS degree in Business or related field and/or equivalent education and work experience.
2. Significant project management experience.
3. Proven experience in tracking, planning projects, working with large data sets and making data-driven analytical decisions.
4. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and balance multiple priorities and projects.
5. Excellent stakeholder management skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely to leadership.
6. Participate in and support the navigating of complex stakeholder relationships in a matrix environment with politically sensitive concerns.

Preferred Qualifications of the Senior Project Manager:

1. Prince 2 project management qualification OR Project Management Certification PMP.
2. Previous experience standing up a new business or business change initiative.
3. Healthcare experience.
4. Experience working across multiple countries.
