Background: Our client, the Investment arm of a leading GCC bank, is seeking a Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer to lead and direct the strategy and product development division, by guiding strategic initiatives, managing marketing and corporate communication, directing product development and monitoring investment performance. This individual will report directly to the CEO Responsibilities:

Strategy : Develop the department strategy in line with the corporate strategy to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies across the firm
Policies, Processes & Procedures : Develop and oversees the implementation of department policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of Corporate Strategy and Planning department activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers
Budget : Develop and recommend the Strategy & Business Development department budget and monitor actual performance versus budget so that necessary action is taken to maximize alignment with budget numbers
Strategic Initiatives Management : Translate the firm's strategy into strategic initiatives by developing scope, plans, governance, stakeholders, deliverables and resourcing of multi-disciplinary teams
Corporate Planning : Provide advice and facilitate the design and set-up of strategic projects in consultation with the senior management in order to ensure clear alignment with the business needs
Product & Services Management : Formalize and manage the product development process from end to end, including idea generation, concept development and approval and launch execution
Advise & Communication : Advises the CEO and executives with the insights, recent market and industry developments and implications on the bank's strategy to ensure that the strategic plans and objectives are amended accordingly
Leadership : Demonstrate effective leadership in all aspects of the department activities, including setting individual goals/objectives, recruiting qualified staff, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, offering formal and informal feedback on performance appraisals
Committees & Meetings : Represents the function and actively contributes in various committees/meetings (internal and external) as applicable and per authority levels in order to ensure relevant matters are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner
