Tax Accountant - Financial Services - R650K - R540K

RPO Recruitment's client is seeking a Tax Accountant to join their team in Durban. The ideal candidate should be technically strong in both tax and accounting, and have a proven track record of success in managing complex tax issues. They will be responsible for being the tax technical lead both internally and in interactions with SARS. Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all of The Company's tax products
2. Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, businesses, and trusts
3. Advise clients on tax planning and compliance matters
4. Represent clients in tax audits and disputes
5. Keep up to date with the latest tax legislation and developments
6. Provide tax training and support to internal staff
7. Act as the tax technical lead both internally and in interactions with SARS

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
2. Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles
3. Minimum 3 years' post articles experience in tax accounting
4. Strong technical knowledge of tax and accounting principles
5. Experience in dealing with SARS both via e-filing and other channels
6. Experience with tax planning
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
9. Experience in training and mentoring staff

Benefits:

1. Salary: R540K/yr - R650K/yr, salary negotiable
