Mechanical QC Engineer

Job Description

• Review all submittals including but not limited to technical and material submittals.
• Assist the QC manager in all activities related to the 3 phase inspection process for mechanical activities.
• Monitor all phases and processes required for the effective completion of all related Mechanical works, particularly issues of design, procurement, construction, and final handover.
• Monitor the implementation of Method Statements, and Inspection & Test Plans related to Mechanical works, ensuring all necessary records are generated in a timely manner.
• Manage the inspection and testing of Mechanical works, including monitoring the work of QC Inspectors under their authority.
• Monitor the closeout of punch lists established for incomplete work related to Mechanical works.
• Ensure all measurement & testing instruments employed for Mechanical works are functional and calibrated.
• Witness, review, and approve welder qualifications and WPS, PQR qualifications.
• Liaise and coordinate with 3rd Party Testing/Inspection Companies as required for Mechanical works.
• Perform statistical analysis and evaluation of test data related to Mechanical works.
• Prepare, file, and maintain test/inspection records and any other quality records generated related to Mechanical works.
• Assist construction personnel in identifying and resolving problems and potential or actual non-conformances related to Mechanical works.
• Advise the QC Manager of non-conformance occurrences and, where necessary, raise a Non-conformance Report for non-compliant work, monitoring the closeout and effectiveness of corrective actions undertaken.
• Witness all NDT and Mechanical testing (including hydro testing, pneumatic testing, etc.) specified.
• Attend and witness all Client verification of work (inspection, test, and the like) on site, coordinating closeout of any outstanding issues related to Civil works.
• Assist in the preparation of final documents for certification where required.
• Assist in the systems commissioning as required.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 7 years as a quality control mechanical engineer
• Experience in mega projects is a must.
• Preferably with experience in US Army projects.
