- Be responsible for providing and coordinating patient care, educating patients and the public about various health conditions, and providing advice and emotional support to patients and their family members.
- Assess and identify patients' needs and implement and monitor the patient's medical plan and treatment.
- Perform systematic patient assessment and collect pertinent data about the patient’s health or situation.
- Understand and analyze the assessment information and data.
- Determine actual and potential nursing diagnoses, problems, and issues.

- Prepare patients for medical examination and treatment.

- Provide wound care management.
- Assist in medical procedures invasive or non-invasive as needed.
- Facilitate the process of safe patient admission and discharge.
- Intervene appropriately in clinical emergency situations.
- Demonstrate competency in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and participate as a member of Code Blue hospital wide.
- Demonstrate priority setting or triage skills and timeliness in responding to patient’s needs.
- Demonstrate competency in triaging patients of all ages including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and pregnant women.
- Demonstrate competency in providing emergency nursing care and procedures for patients of all ages.
- Assist with endotracheal intubation, insertion of central venous catheter and arterial catheter, insertion of intercostal drain, and intraosseous needles.
- Demonstrate knowledge in care of patients on mechanical ventilator.
- Administer medications required for the management of patients as per the doctor’s order and monitor and report any adverse effects as per the hospital policy.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of nursing assessment and reassessment of all emergency patients on regular intervals as per the hospital policy.
- Participate in care and maintenance of infusion pump, syringe pump, cardiac monitor, ECG machine, rapid infuser and warmer, and transport ventilators ensuring an agreed standard of decontamination at all times including accurate records of traceability of all equipment.
- Demonstrate vigilance in identifying patients with communicable diseases and following the appropriate isolation technique for such patients.
- Ensure that all the HAAD notifications to be done from Emergency Room are completed within the stipulated time frame.
- Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply with those requirements.
- Work in accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities.
- Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
- Notify OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assist with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports.
- Comply with Waste management procedures and policies.
- Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.
- Have an appropriate license to work as a nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority (DoH, DHA) with all the qualification and experience this mandates.
- Manage their own professional revalidation.
- Have basic life support qualification (within past 24 months).
- Have an active interest in the clinical field in which they are employed.
- Be willing to work across departments when necessary.
- Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English (spoken and written).
- Evidenced experience/expertise in the clinical field in which they are employed.
- Evidenced ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Organizational and administrative skills with which to use the HIS platform for clinical documentation.
- Be able to communicate effectively in Arabic.
