Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the mill, including production processes, maintenance, and quality control.
- Monitor production efficiency and minimize downtime by ensuring timely repairs and servicing of machinery and equipment.
- Track and ensure the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as oil extraction rate (OER), kernel extraction rate (KER), and throughput.
- Supervise and mentor mill staff to ensure smooth operations and high team morale.
- Coordinate and delegate tasks effectively, ensuring all team members adhere to company policies and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct regular training and performance evaluations for employees.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all production meets company quality standards and industry requirements, including MSPO/RSPO certification compliance.
- Implement quality control measures and identify areas for improvement in processes.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and certifications, such as ISO and MSPO/RSPO requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and emergency drills.
Sustainability & Environmental Management:
- Support initiatives to improve sustainability in mill operations, including waste management, energy efficiency, and emissions reduction.
- Monitor and report on environmental impact metrics and compliance with regulatory standards.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports to the Mill Manager.
- Maintain accurate records of production, maintenance, inventory, and compliance audits.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Possess at least a 2nd Grade Steam Engineer Certification or equivalent.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in palm oil mill operations.
- Strong technical knowledge of palm oil milling processes and equipment.
- Good understanding of sustainability practices in the palm oil industry.
- Strong communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia and good interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and good in operational reporting/use of mill-related software/tools.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- High level of integrity and accountability.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Fit to work and have a good track of attendance record.
