Position Overview KU is seeking a highly motivated Research Engineer to work on laboratory experiments on carbonate sediments utilized for building material production by microbially induced carbonate precipitation (MICP). The researcher will conduct bacteria harvesting and specimen preparation and operate low- and high-capacity triaxial compression devices. The responsibilities include:

1. Conduct laboratory experiments on MICP-treated specimens.
2. Summarize the laboratory results and publish reports, and conference/journal papers.
3. Develop a guideline for optimization of biological treatment on carbonate sediments in the UAE.
4. Formulate in constitutive model into computational mechanics.
5. Work closely with the post-doc and the project supervisors on multiple experiments to achieve the maximum strength to the produced building material and prototypes.
