Designation: Purchaser Place of Work: Office Job Description:
- Coordinate with factory supervisor and site supervisor to understand the material requirements for the site.
- Purchase materials for project sites efficiently and timely.
- Select appropriate suppliers (Local or Import) to promote good procurement practices with due regard to sustainability, ethical purchasing standards, and costing.
- Draft an appropriate service level agreement to evaluate supplier performance and report on this regularly.
- Work with internal relevant staff (i.e., production manager and site supervisors) to determine procurement needs, quality, and delivery requirements.
- Responsible for order placement timing, supply/demand alignment, material replenishment, and supplier performance for both local purchases and imports.
- Develop sourcing strategies, cost-saving budgeting, and targeting.
- Negotiate, optimize, and manage payment terms.
- Review inventory and update as required, including monthly stock takes.
- Receive, initiate, and keep track of orders from various departments.
- Maintain contracts with vendors and reconcile or resolve order discrepancies with supplies.
- Monitor delivery times to ensure they are on time.
- Maintain good relationships with suppliers and renegotiate prices regularly.
- Coordinate routine overseas orders.
- Submit accounts for payment to vendors on time.
- Perform administration and reporting as necessary.
- Make policy analysis and recommendations regarding purchasing.
- Any other tasks assigned by the managing partner to fulfill the above-stated jobs.
