About the Auckland System Management (ASM) Alliance The ASM is an alliance between HEB Construction, Fulton Hogan and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency to operate and maintain Auckland's motorway network. The Alliance is expected to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as well as suppliers to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers using the Auckland transport system. Estimated project dates are from July 2019 to June 2028. The Opportunity We have an exciting new opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our Transport, Technology Team, working on Auckland's motorway network. As Project Engineer, you will provide technical expertise and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects including asset renewals, new installations and additional projects from NZTA. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, overseeing technical elements and ensuring adherence to design specifications. You will ensure quality, efficiency and alignment with project objectives. This role requires some flexibility, as on-site and night shift work may be required. What you will be doing: As Project Engineer, you will have a variety of responsibilities including:
- Developing and reviewing technical designs, drawings, and specifications.
- Providing engineering solutions to project challenges.
- Conducting feasibility studies and recommending technical modifications.
- Assisting in project planning, cost estimation, and scheduling.
- Collaborating with subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure project delivery meets ASM requirements and provides optimal value for money.
- Integrating technical solutions with operational requirements to ensure alignment across all project phases.
- Coordinating Traffic Management (TTM) bookings as required and informing the delivery team.
- Ensuring all necessary tools, materials, and equipment are prepared for the task.
- Managing technical, delivery, and quality assurance (QA) documents while maintaining accurate records.
- Contributing to various required reports.
- Ensure the highest levels of safety are maintained and all ASM and NZTA safety requirements are met.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic, etc.) or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in project engineering or a similar role.
- Solid ITS knowledge and background, relevant working experience in civil, structure and electrical is preferable.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam, EPLAN, etc.).
- Experience with MS project or alternative project management software.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Experience in Project management.
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively
- Strong understanding of Health and Safety practices
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
