Adina Hotel Auckland Britomart, 2 Tapora St, Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand Req #2877 Date: Friday, 24 January 2025 Hourly Wage: $32.32 per hour Employment Status: Full-time (30+ hours per week) Employment Type: Permanent Places of Work: Adina Apartment Hotel, Auckland - 2 Tapora St, Auckland 1010 Adina Apartment Hotel, Britomart is a 165 one and two bedroom, and studio apartments, full-service hotel. With restaurant and conference facilities and only 300 metres from Spark Arena, it is a busy property within an ever-changing and evolving Britomart precinct. Purpose As Night Manager , you will complete end-of-day activities and oversee all activities during the night shift to ensure smooth operations and hand-over for the next day, including posting charges to accounts, running night audit and rolling the date. No two days are the same, but your engagement and communication with all the interconnecting departments will ensure you remain ahead of the curve in terms of where you and your team need to focus. Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain the daily operations of the hotel and be the go-to for team members on shift.
  • Encourage team involvement, initiative, and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ensure smooth sailing of the daily check-in/check-out process, use of guest names, CRM, and correct cashiering procedures across F&B outlets.
  • Assist guests with special requests (e.g. wake-up calls, transportation, event tickets, restaurant, airline reservations) and ensure they’re followed through with charges raised accordingly.
  • Resolve guest complaints promptly, efficiently, and always with a smile, following TFE complaint handling guidelines.
  • Keep the ‘Guest Services Directory’ in the Property Management System (PMS) accurate and up to date.
  • Assist and action any guest queries relating to housekeeping and maintenance when required.
  • Ensure seamless transition to and from night shift with effective communication and handover.
  • Prepare and provide up-to-date financial/yield reports as requested by management.
  • Handle reservation requests efficiently and involve your manager or Reservations team for groups or unusual requests.
  • Sell rooms/accommodations to guests without reservations based on availability while maintaining all business protocols.
  • Complete the Room Rate Variance Report and process all guest check-ins and room assignments.
  • Understand and adhere to TFE hotels credit and account procedures ensuring guest accounts are accurate and charges are posted prior to checkout.
  • Complete and maintain the Night Audit process and daily balancing of the day’s transactions.
  • Process requests for wake-up calls and advise guests of any messages, reissuing room keys as needed.
  • Escalate any concerns or issues on site during the night shift as per the Critical Incident Management Policy.
  • Keep your Manager informed of any problems and unusual matters.
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the lobby, front desk, and F&B outlet.
  • Follow the company Respectful Workplace Behaviour Policy, team member handbook, Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and relevant departmental policies and procedures.
  • Acknowledge the importance of workplace safety and adhere to TFE WHS policies and procedures.
  • Maintain guest security and privacy at all times.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
  • Diploma of Hotel/Hospitality Management or Bachelor's degree in tourism management, management, or relevant field, or 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills; multilingualism is an advantage, with proficient spoken and written English.
  • Immaculate presentation and grooming, with pride in wearing the appropriate uniform and name badge.
  • Demonstrable expertise in facilitating general front office procedures, night audit processes, and operational activities.
  • Considerable experience in a Duty Manager or Night Manager capacity in a similar property.
  • Protel Property Management System experience.
  • Experience in supporting logistics functions including processing invoices, following up with debtors, and conducting weekly commission processes.
  • Shift work required, including early, late, and overnight shifts as needed; flexibility is a must.
  • Weekend and public holiday shifts are required.
  • Attend to basic facilities requests, assist with guest luggage, and potentially assist with Food and Beverage operations.
