Part Time Staff Nurse (1 or 2 12 hr shifts/week)

This is an exciting position for a nurse that is interested in working in a different model of care. The position is in our community based in Bruff Co Limerick. This is Ireland's first purpose-built village for people living with dementia. The 'household model' adopts a person-centred approach, each person retains as much autonomy over his or her wellbeing as possible. The Community is a lifestyle choice based on a social approach. It provides a supportive environment for people living with dementia, ensuring that everyone can participate in the warmth and support of our community. The over-arching aim being to ensure that people can grow old and live well in a community of their choosing, with dignity and independence.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Nursing Degree.
2. To be registered with the NMBI and adhere to their guidelines and regulations.
3. Act as a facilitator and supervisor for Health Care Assistants.
4. Experience working with people living with dementia desirable.
5. Promote safety and wellbeing of all residents, staff and any other persons at all times.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Available Nights and Weekends.
8. Have own car and Irish license.
