The Team Leader – Civil, Preventive, & Corrective Maintenance will possess hands-on experience in handling all levels of preventive and corrective maintenance activities. This includes the maintenance of depots, stations, and infrastructure assets, as detailed below. The Team Leader is expected to undertake repair and remedial work, preventive and corrective maintenance of the Dubai Tram Network, which includes:
- Infrastructure: 2.3 km viaduct, Marina Bridges 1 & 3, on-track/off-track civil works.
- Main Depot Complex: Technical Building, Operations Control Building, Depot Maintenance Workshop, Washing Machines Building, Drivers Building, Water Plant Building, External Storage Building, Warehouses, main and secondary entrances, internal roads, drainage systems (manholes and chambers), car parks, and landscaped areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and guide a team of Civil Technicians and subcontractors to carry out all levels of preventive and corrective maintenance activities, as well as minor modifications to building structures at stations, depots, technical buildings, car parks, internal roads, and elevated viaducts.
- Supervise, oversee, and assist Civil Technicians on-site with maintenance activities such as grouting, chipping, scaffolding, sealant application, insulation, general structural repairs, and finishes.
- Follow established procedures and instructions to ensure compliance with safety requirements and maintenance standards.
- Provide job familiarization, training, and assessments for subordinates as required.
- Produce and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and other relevant information using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Assist the Senior Civil Engineer or other technical staff with implementing asset configuration changes.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and in good working condition.
- Perform duties as instructed by the Senior Civil Engineer, including shift work and emergency response duties when required.
Skills Required
- Ability to read and understand construction/as-built drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment used in facilities management services.
- Expertise in facilities management and maintenance techniques.
- Familiarity with occupational hazards and relevant safety regulations.
- Ability to operate and maintain tools and equipment related to the role.
- Proven ability to execute and monitor work schedules efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address issues promptly.
- Ability to train and supervise lower-level employees effectively.
- Strong communication skills to interact with team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- A minimum of three (3) years of a Civil Diploma from a recognized institute or college. Alternatively, 10–12 years of work experience in civil maintenance for railways, metros, complex building structures, and associated facilities, with a focus on operations, construction, remedial/repair work, and maintenance in the Gulf region.
Other Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in the facilities management (FM) sector.
- Additional qualifications and experience will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
