Whāngārā Farms is undergoing an exciting transformation. With the appointment of a new CEO, we’ve embraced a refreshed business strategy driven by our Reset Plan, designed to enhance operational efficiency, accountability, and profitability. As part of this plan, we are decentralising our management structure, empowering each farm to operate as an independent unit with clear responsibility for its own performance. Farm managers will enjoy the autonomy to make farm-specific decisions while being accountable for achieving financial and operational targets. You will be key in helping to forge a high performing culture amongst your team and across the business. We are now seeking three skilled and visionary Farm Managers for the following farms: Whitiwhiti, Pakarae, Rototahi. We welcome applications for one or multiple positions. About Whāngārā Farms: Located 35 km north of Gisborne, Whāngārā Farms spans 8,300 hectares, running 45,000 sheep and 6,000 cattle. Our partnership represents three Māori incorporations—Whangara B5, Pakarae A, and Tapuwae Whitiwhiti—working together under one unified system. At our core, we are committed to fostering prosperity for the owners, with a strong emphasis on community, environmental stewardship, and economic growth. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all aspects of farm operations, ensuring sustainable profitability.
- Develop and execute farm-specific plans aligned with Whāngārā Farms' overarching goals.
- Manage livestock, biodiversity, and land resources to achieve operational excellence.
- Build a culture of accountability, innovation, and community collaboration.
- Proven experience in farm management, with a track record of delivering measurable results.
- Expertise in livestock operations, with a focus on sustainable practices.
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities, coupled with a drive to achieve high performance.
- Financial acumen, with experience in developing and implementing business plans.
