Materials Engineer

Job Description: Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Materials Engineer to join our team! What You'll Be Doing:

1. Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately. Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.
2. Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
3. Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
4. Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
5. Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
6. Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents. Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
7. May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
8. May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
9. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Geology.
2. Typically 12+ years of experience in field construction is required. Experience as a Construction Material Specialist on a large scale infra project is preferred.
3. Requires a working knowledge of construction-related processes, as well as a familiarity with industry practices.
4. Proficient PC skills including a familiarity with various software used for inventory control, such as Document and Materials Controls System (DMCS), and the proven ability for performing in a lead capacity on a project are also highly preferred.
5. GCC experience is required.
