What the role is: Senior Executive Retail Food Businesses Section Food Services Dept / Licensing Division Purpose of Job: Officer will be responsible for processing licence applications for food shops, food stalls, supermarkets and temporary fairs to ensure that these establishments meet SFA’s pre-licensing requirements before they commence operations, to assure food safety. This includes conducting pre-licensing checks on the premises to verify that the layout and set up are in accordance with requirements before recommending issuance of the appropriate SFA licence type when all requirements are met. Duties: Process licence applications, which include checking layout plans of the premises and land agency’s approvals, as well as imposing suitable and appropriate licensing conditions. Conduct pre-licensing checks on the premises to ensure compliance with the pre-licensing requirements. Attend to public queries on licensing-related matters. Prepare and implement revised / new licensing regime / initiatives. Requirements: Knowledge in HACCP or Food Safety Management System will have an added advantage. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially in Microsoft Excel. Highly independent, organised, self-motivated, meticulous, and able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Location: Will be stationed at JEM, 52 Jurong Gateway Road (S)608550.
