Financial Director

Company Overview: We are a leading UK-based manufacturer of mineral and vitamin supplements for agricultural animals. With a strong focus on supporting the agricultural sector, we are committed to delivering high-quality products that meet the nutritional needs of livestock. Due to retirement and as we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Director to join our team. Position: Financial Director Location: Head Office, Winsford, Cheshire Commitment: Part-time (2 days per week or equivalent) Role Overview: The Financial Director will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the financial health of the company. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will provide strategic financial guidance, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and contribute to the company’s overall growth and profitability. This role is ideal for an experienced financial leader with a background in sales and manufacturing environments. Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Financial Leadership:
   • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s goals.
   • Provide financial insights to support decision-making and business planning.
2. Financial Management and Reporting:
   • Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports.
   • Monitor financial performance and recommend corrective actions as needed.
3. Compliance and Risk Management:
   • Ensure compliance with all corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
   • Manage financial risk and develop strategies to mitigate potential issues.
4. Team Leadership:
   • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
   • Collaborate effectively with other departments to support overall business objectives.
5. System and Process Optimization:
   • Utilize financial management software to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
   • Leverage knowledge of systems such as Epicor Prophet 21 (preferred but not essential) to enhance financial operations.

Essential Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Financial Director, ideally in a sales and manufacturing environment.
• Recognized accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
• Proficiency in financial management software; familiarity with Epicor Prophet 21 is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strategic, analytical, and detail-oriented mindset.
• Demonstrated ability to make tough decisions and guide the team towards financial goals.

Desirable Qualities:

• A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
• Experience working in the agricultural or animal nutrition industry is advantageous.

Working Arrangement: This is a part-time position based at our head office in Winsford, Cheshire, requiring a commitment of 2 days per week (or equivalent).
