Help us get ahead of disease together with our Vaccines Business / Manufacturing Support (Upstream & Downstream) Internship, 2025: Education required: Undergraduate studying a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Biotechnology, or related Life Science. Other requirements: Must be enrolled at a SG university for the duration of your internship & doing a full-time credit bearing internship. Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English. Internship period: July to December 2025. Application deadline: 31 January 2025. This vacancy will be closed once we have enough applications for consideration. What will you do? Understand Vaccine bulk manufacturing (Upstream and Downstream) processes and sterile manufacturing. Exposure to a range of unit operations including Fermentation, Purification (Chromatography operations, Ultra-filtration), Microfluidization, Complexation and Adsorption. Collect and compile data from various sources within the manufacturing process for troubleshooting to solve process/ operational issues in a manufacturing facility, and for trending/ process improvements. Provide support to continuous improvement initiatives/ projects and process robustness initiatives. Assist in developing process automation and new technologies involving data analytics and continuous manufacturing. Support in the execution and development of new validation processes or troubleshooting existing ones for Process and Equipment. Support in the documentation of validation protocols, reports and risk assessments. Support and collaborate with MSAT and inter-departments on site-wide initiatives. Participate in site’s safety, quality and wellness initiatives. What will you learn? Understand the vaccine manufacturing process. Have valuable hands-on experience, develop critical skills, and enhance your ability to contribute to process optimization initiatives in the pharmaceutical industry. Understand equipment and systems (e.g. Fermentation, Purification (Chromatography operations, Ultra-filtration), Microfluidization, Complexation and Adsorption).
