Terminal Operator

The purpose of a Terminal Operator is to manage the loading and unloading of cargo from ships, trucks, and other vessels in a safe and efficient manner. Terminal Operators are responsible for the accurate and timely receipt, storage, and shipment of goods, as well as the maintenance of terminal facilities in compliance with governmental regulations and customer requirements.

Terminal Operator Duties

Operate terminals to load and unload vessels, trucks and railcars

Monitor terminal activities, such as vessel loading, railcar switching, truck check-in and out

Communicate with vessel and truck drivers to coordinate loading and unloading

Inspect cargo and check bills of lading

Prepare manifests, cargo manifests and other shipping documents
