What the role is: A career in the Singapore Government Information Service is rewarding and challenging, spanning a broad gamut of portfolios and responsibilities that are fundamental to good governance. As the Government's communications professionals, your role will assist the Government in communicating policies to the public in an increasingly challenging communications environment. What you will be working on: As part of the Information Service, you will be involved in a range of public communications work, which includes strategic communications, developing and executing Whole-of-Government communications plans, media management, and public consultation. You will also be involved in setting e-engagement policies and leveraging new technologies to better engage with the public. Successful candidates can look forward to postings within MDDI or other Government agencies to serve in their corporate communications department. What we are looking for: At least 2 years of relevant work experience/knowledge in media analytics, public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field. Candidates with more years of experience may be considered for a senior information officer position. Possess high social and political sensitivities, strong interpersonal and writing skills, as well as leadership qualities. Bilingualism in English and one of the other three official languages of Singapore will be an advantage. Ability to multi-task with good project management capability. Keen interest in public communications, new media, and current affairs. Knowledge and proficiency in new media tools, platforms, and trends will be an advantage. About the Ministry of Digital Development and Information: The Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI) drives Singapore’s digital development in four key domains — the economy, government, security, and society. MDDI oversees the development of the infocomm technology, cybersecurity, and media sectors; the Government’s digitalisation initiatives; and the national library, national archives, and public libraries.
