A dynamic and progressive farming enterprise located near Yuna, WA, approximately 75 km northeast of Geraldton, is seeking an experienced Cropping Manager . Our operation spans 6,500 hectares, focusing on wheat and canola, with additional crops including barley and lupins. Role Overview We are looking for a dedicated professional to lead and optimise our seeding and cropping operations. This pivotal role involves planning, executing, and managing all aspects of crop production to achieve outstanding yields and quality, primarily in wheat and canola. Key Responsibilities Crop Planning and Management : Develop and execute cropping schedules, including seeding, fertilising, chemical applications, and harvesting. Team Leadership : Supervise and coordinate farm workers, ensuring efficient operations and task delegation. Soil and Crop Health : Monitor soil conditions and crop health, implementing strategies to maintain and improve productivity. Budget Management : Plan and oversee cropping budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations. Compliance : Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Equipment Oversight : Manage and maintain farm machinery to ensure peak operational efficiency, with a preference for experience in John Deere equipment. Pest and Weed Control : Develop and implement effective management strategies. Collaboration : Work closely with owners and agronomists to incorporate innovative and best-practice farming techniques. About You We are seeking a motivated leader with a proven background in cropping management and modern farming practices. Qualifications & Experience: Relevant experience in wheat and canola cropping (essential). Strong mechanical aptitude; experience with farm machinery maintenance is highly regarded. Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field (preferred but not essential). Leadership skills with demonstrated team management experience. Proficiency in modern farming technologies and practices. Analytical skills to interpret soil and crop data. Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
