Due to an expanding portfolio of projects nationally, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Resident Engineer in our Civils / Infrastructure Department. The successful candidate will initially be responsible for undertaking the Senior Resident Engineer role at our project in Delgany/Greystones, Co. Wicklow. The project involves a 0.8km long road improvement scheme at Chapel Road, Delgany/Greystones to widen the existing public road and provide improved carriageway, cycle, pedestrian and crossing facilities. The proposed Works include several accommodation / boundary works requiring interactions with landowners and service providers. Key roles and responsibilities:
- Reporting to a Director/Team Leader, the successful Senior Resident Engineer will oversee and be responsible for inspections, technical matters on site, delegated contract matters, assisting the Employer and Employer’s Representative, liaising with the Contractor, representing DBFL on the project, public liaison and managing stakeholders including landowners and service providers.
- Supervising a second resident engineer.
- Motivated, hardworking team member.
- Previous experience as a Senior Resident Engineer / Resident Engineer role, for similar road / road improvement / infrastructure projects.
- Clear understanding of TII Publications / DMRB (Specification for Roadworks, Traffic Signs Manual etc).
- Ability to interpret tender documents and drawings and review and organise large amounts of information.
- Strong numerical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations / experience in monitoring Contractor compliance.
- Strong leadership and collaboration qualities.
- Monitor and report on works being carried out onsite, prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Monitor materials incorporated into the permanent work, workmanship and testing in accordance with the Works Requirements.
- Undertake delegated public works contract administration duties.
- Reviewing and commenting on contractor documentation.
- Liaise with landowners in relation to accommodation and boundary works.
- Liaise and knowledge of dealing with third party utilities / service providers and stakeholders.
- At least 10 years post qualification civil engineering experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum Level 8 Civil Engineering Degree (Hons).
- Ideally Chartered status with Engineers Ireland or equivalent.
- Computer Skills MS Office Suite, Autocad.
- H&S training & Safepass.
- Self-motivated with excellent client relationship management skills.
- A current driver’s licence is essential.
